Welcome to the scenic and historic foot trails of New York State’s Ulster, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam Counties. If you like to walk, run, hike, or ski, there’s a trail beckoning you.
In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Henry
Hudson’s voyage of discovery, the Grand Walkabout
Committee compiled a comprehensive Trail Directory,
listing foot trails throughout these four counties.
Some trails are rugged and long, with tough climbs
affording spectacular views. Some are
gentle and
meandering, passing working farms or the tantalizing
ruins of old stone buildings. Some are urban trails
that lead walkers to cultural and historic sites.
